Whole Farm Planning Course

Any beginning women farmers out there?  The VT Women’s Ag Network and the UVM Extension NewFarmer Project are now accepting applications for the Whole Farm Planning for Beginning Women Farmers course.  This ten-session class starts in mid-December and covers topics from financial planning and goal setting to monitoring your land and Whole Farm Planning class meets on the farmincorporating livestock into your farm operation.  All participants will be given a farm mentor, and the last 4 sessions include farm tours.  Vermont farmers have the option of joining a class in Hartland, Vermont on Tuesdays from 9:30 – 4 pm or going to North Haverhill, New Hampshire on Saturdays from 9 – 3:30 pm.  We have space for 15 Vermont farmers to join the FREE course offered this year through Holistic Management International. So don’t delay!  The application deadline is October 29!

And if you happen to know any experienced farmers who would make great mentors, send them to our mentor application site!  We are looking for 3 awesome women farmers with more than 10 years experience farming to mentor participants in this program.  Mentors receive a stipend for their work and can participate in all of the Whole Farm Planning classes.  A great opportunity to support new farmers and learn new management skills along the way!
